Growing up, I didn’t have a clear idea of what I wanted to do. Like most teenagers, I had no clue what a career in engineering looked like. My dad was a chemical engineering technologist, and with his encouragement and my own love for math, organizing, and making connections with people, I enrolled in engineering, unsure of where it would lead.
I was born and raised in Treaty 6, Edmonton was home, but my dad’s family is from eastern Ontario. I chose to study at Carleton University in Ottawa to explore those roots and completed a degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Environmental Engineering. After graduating, I returned to the prairies to begin my career.
My early work was with industry and municipal clients across Alberta, gaining hands-on experience through the consulting world. I eventually shifted my focus to civil engineering to work more directly on infrastructure projects that shapes our everyday life - roads, water, wastewater, and drainage. I’m grateful to the communities that gave me early opportunities to learn and grow. Those projects helped me earn my professional designation and shaped how I approach the work today.
Over time, and through invitations to work alongside First Nations, I found myself drawn to a different way of working, one that values relationships, long-term thinking, and the deep interconnectedness of projects. These experiences shifted not only my focus but my perspective. I came to understand that infrastructure isn’t just about roads and waterlines —it’s about homes, land, health, and opportunity. It’s about supporting a community’s full vision for the future.
Today, I bring together my engineering background along with my knowledge of housing, land use, and community development to support projects that are practical, sustainable, and rooted in the priorities of the Nations I work with. I care deeply about walking alongside communities, as a partner, an advocate, and someone who’s invested in helping them turn their goals into reality.
I’m a licensed Professional Engineer with APEGA, and Creswell Consulting Ltd. is an active holder of a Permit to Practice. Whether supporting funding applications, infrastructure design, or project implementation, I lead with humility, technical insight, and a deep respect for community-led planning.
